Meat Data using a Microscope.

Step 1. Problem.
Which meat will bring out maggots. Is it true that coke will bring maggots to the meat?

Step 2: Research the Problem.
Test 8 different types of meat.

Step 3: Form a hypothesis.
I predict the meat in the sun will be the one with the most maggots.

Step 4:Test your hypothesis by gathering data.

#1 Meat w/ Coke sealed.
Final look- Meat looks rotten. White, Smells bad.

#2 Meat w/ Coke Sealed.
Final Look- Pink, no maggots, black dots, Smells bad.

#3 Meat unsealed.
Final Look- Red, moldy, Smells bad, no maggots, There may be a fly on the side. Not sure what it is.

#4 Meat Sealed.
Final Look- White, smells bad, no maggots, Black dots.

#5 Meat left in sun unsealed.
Final Look- Lots of maggots. Red meat. Some parts white.

#6 Meat Sealed in fridge
Final Look- Meat is yellowish green. No maggots. Smells very bad.

#7 Meat unsealed in fridge.
Final Look- dry, red, smells bad, no maggots.

#8 Meat w/ Lime uncovered.
Final Look- White, dead. No maggots.

Step 5: Results.
The meat that was left in the sun had the most maggots.

Step 3: Form a hypothesis.
I think the meat in the sun will be the one with the most maggots.

Step 4:Test your hypothesis by gathering data.

#1 Meat w/ Coke sealed.
Final look- Meat looks rotten. White and slimy, Smells bad.

#2 Meat w/ Coke Sealed.
Final Look- Pink, no maggots, black dots, Smells reallly really bad.

#3 Meat unsealed.
Final Look- Red, moldy, Smells bad, no maggots, small little black bug on the side of the meat.

#4 Meat Sealed.
Final Look- White, smells bad, no maggots

#5 Meat left in sun unsealed.
Final Look- there were a lot of maggots, the meat looked dry and it smelt really bad.

#6 Meat Sealed in fridge
Final Look- Meat is yellowish green. No maggots. smells like rotten fish.

#7 Meat unsealed in fridge.
Final Look- looks like it dried up. no maggots, its white. and stinks.

#8 Meat w/ Lime uncovered.
Final Look- thick wateredl lime. smells bad. no maggots.

Step 5: Results.
the meat that was unsealed and left in the sun has the most maggots. It was the worst out of them all.

This experiment was to find out if organisms would develop out of the meat. We had meat in a jar unsealed, meat in a jar sealed, meat in a jar with coke sealed, meat in a jar with coke unsealed, meat with lime juice, meat in the refrigerator sealed, meat in the refrigerator unsealed. I thought bugs were going to come out of both meats left in the coke. I thought the other meats were just going to rot. After four days, all the meat smelled very bad. The meat sealed and unsealed with coke had mold but no bugs. The meat sealed was green in color. The meat unsealed was yellow in color, it had mold, baby flies, and maggots. The meat that was left outside looked dried up and it had maggots and a big dead fly. The meat with lime has mold and the lime juice was cloudy. The meat covered in the refrigerator looked green. The meat uncovered in the refrigerator looked dried up. All the meat smelled very bad!

This science experiment was to prove that living things do not come from non-living things. Our class collected seven empty glass jars and cut pieces of meat for each jar. In jar #1, there was a piece of meat, sealed and on the last day it was looking rotten and stinky, but there weren't any living organisms in the meat. In jar #2, there was a piece of meat with coke, sealed. It was also stinky, rotten, and the soda was no longer brown, it was red. In jar #3, there was a piece of meat, unsealed. It was moldy, stinky, and there was a little black bug in the meat. In the rest of the jars it was stinky, gross, and moldy. The only jar with actual maggots was the jar with meat that was left unsealed outside. The only reason there were maggots in the meat was because it was left outside and the flies laid their baby eggs on the meat. To conclude this experiment, I was right, living organisms do not come from non-living organisms.

The problem is that we are trying to find out which jar will have maggots in them.
We tested eight different jars.
My hypothesis is that the only jar with maggots will be the one left in the sun.
We tested each jar and these are the results:
#1 Meat w/ Coke sealed.
Meat looks rotten. White and it smells really bad.
#2 Meat w/ Coke Sealed.
It looked pink, had no maggots, a couple of black dots, Smells bad.
#3 Meat unsealed.
Red, it had some mold. It also had a little black bug on the side of it.
#4 Meat Sealed.
White, smells really bad, it had no maggots
#5 Meat left in sun unsealed.
The meat had lots of maggots and it smelled really bad.
#6 Meat Sealed in fridge
Meat had a yellowish look to it it had no maggots.
#7 Meat unsealed in fridge.
It looked dry and smelled like fish.
#8 Meat w/ Lime uncovered.
This meat had no maggots but smelled really bad.

What I predicted was right, the jar with the most maggots was the one left in the sun.
