Conservation Status: What does it mean when we say an animal is endangered?
It means that, that animal is threatened with extinction.

Spot the cat coats: They say you can tell a leopard by its spots. How about jaguars and cheetahs?
A Jaguar is black, with black spots that is basically hidden. A Cheetah is orange with black spots.

Scientific Names: How do taxonomic names help scientists and researchers identify animals and plants?
Its like naming people, it helps to tell the difference between the two.

Carnivore, Herbivore, Insectivore: What do these names, and others like them, really mean?
A Carnivore is an organism that eats meat. An herbivore is an organism that only eats plants, and an Insectivore is an organism that feeds mainly on insects.

Write these in Detail and provide me with 3 animals you see that follow under the species.

What is a reptile?
Cold blooded organisms. Turtles, Snakes, and Lizards are examples of a reptile. They also have scales and shells.

What is a bird?
A warm blooded organism that is covered with feathers has a beak and wings. They also lay eggs, and have no teeth.

Insects are organisms that have 3 pairs of legs which are attached to the body. The body is attached to the head, and usually has a pair of wings. Insects would be considered flies, crickets, mosquitoes, beetles, butterflies, and bees.

Spiders are predatory invertebrate animals that have two body segments, eight legs, no chewing mouth parts and no wings. All spiders are able to Examples of spiders would be tarantulas, bird-eating spiders, and cross-spiders. [Hint: daddy long legs are considered insects because they do not have 8 legs]

What is a mammal?

Examples of a mammal would be a cow, cat, dog, and human woman.

What is an amphibian?
any cold-blooded organism of the class Amphibian, comprising frogs and toads, newts and salamanders, and caecilians, the larvae being typically aquatic, breathing by gills, and the adults being typically semi terrestrial, breathing by lungs and through the moist, glandular skin.

What is a metamorphosis?
Change in the form from one stage to the next in the life history of an organism. The caterpillar changes to the pupa and from the pupa to the adult butterfly.

What does it mean when we say an animal is endangered? That the animal is becoming extinct, and their population is decreasing.
They say you can tell a leopard by its spots. How about jaguars and cheetahs? Cheetahs spots are solid & evenly distributed. Jaguars don’t really have spots there black patterns called rosettes.
How do taxonomic names help scientists and researchers identify animals and plants? To categorize each animal in system of taxonomy, providing more info & identification of where the animal comes from.
Carnivore, Herbivore, Insectivore; What do these names, and others like them, really mean? Carnivore: animal that eats flesh, Herbivore: feeds on plants, Insectivore: eats insects What is a reptile? Any cold-blooded animal, usually crawls or creeps, & lays eggs. Angolan Python, Twrg Snake, Gaboo viper

When an animal is conserved, it means that they are being taken care of to preserve them. They say they can tell a leopard by its spots. You can tell a jaguar and cheetah because cheetahs spots are solid and very evenly distributed. Jaguars rosettes sometimes contain spots in their centers. Taxonomic names help scientists and researchers identify animals and plants because to categorize them in a system called taxonomy.
Reptile: Lizard
Bird: Tucan (spell?)
Mammal: Polar Bear
Amphibian: Turtle
