A GUIDE TO THE QUIET LIFE
The people that reside it the backcountry have some advice: Know what you’re getting into. Boulevard is one of many rural towns which have no sidewalks of streetlights. Most of its residents like it that way. Water is scarce and fire is a constant threat. The Boulevard Planning group there put together a community guide to help people ready for this reality. The plan will be distributed by real estate agents in the area. The members of the group hope the guide will help new arrivals. Boulevard is a high-desert town with a population of about 1,500 people.
I like this article because it is trying to help people that want to move into that kind of lifestyle. I think this will help a lot of people. I also agree with this man’s opinion because more population means more public attention to put in side walks and street lights.
This morning I read two articles. The first article was titled Passenger killed in crash with red-light runner ID’d. It was about a woman who was killed by a suspected drunk driver last Friday. The woman has been identified as 28 year old Nancy Galeana-Ramirez. She was a back seat passenger in a Ford Expedition, driving on La Jolla Village Drive near Genesee Avenue at 1:15 a.m. An Acura SUV with a male driver ran a red light and crashed into the Expedition. Both drivers were hospitalized and Galeana-Ramirez was ejected from the vehicle. She died at the scene and the driver of the Acura was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. The second article I read was titled Two bodies found in plane crash wreckage. It was about two men that were found dead in wreckage of a small plane that crashed in a secluded canyon near the El Capitan Reservoir last Saturday. A sheriffs helicopter discovered the wreck during a routine patrol. Deputies climbed deep into the canyon near Two Sisters Falls where they found the two bodies. The tail of the plane was broke off. Investigators a working on identifying the victims. I didn’t think there was any interesting facts, but I was wondering if the lady in the first article had her seat belt on. I was also wondering how the plane crashed.

Feds OK to seize only half a house in drug case
In Branford, Connecticut in 2001 police raided a teacher’s home by the name of Von Hofe. Who they found 65 home-grown marijuana plants when authorities enter the house. Also finding glass pipes substances in the home. Harold and wife Kathleen Van Hofe, pleaded guilty as well while in court faced front of the supreme court. Both avoided going to jail, but received probation time. Which means any little thing could get them throw into jail time. They are now being tested and checked on to make sure there is no use of the illegal drug. One thing I didn’t understand about this passage is that usually, when people are found with an ounce or so more than that, they get jail time w/ no other choice. But this teacher and wife avoided jail time and got probation, or maybe I’m wrong because it’s their first time getting caught but still. One thing I didn’t really like was that they court seemed to not have took this job as serious as other peoples cases, well not only cause there’s different judges but it’s a different state, and I don’t know about the laws in Connecticut. But I believe it still isn’t fair, I think things should all be fair. But life will never be that way, so I guess we all have to get used to it.
I read about Pakistani troops were outside the Lal Masjid, or Red Mosque, in Islamabad, Pakistan. Muzazamil Shahm, whose 17-year-old son is in the Red Mosque, prayed with his family during a heavy exchange of fire between militants and soldiers. Troops have been trying to blast holes in the walls in the hopes that women and children inside will escape, but have held back from an all-out assault. “ Those who are inside Lal Masjid (the Red Mosque) should surrender; otherwise, they get killed, Musharraf told reporters in his first comments on the standoff. Authorities were investigating whether shots fired at Musharraf’s plane as it took off Friday from a nearby military base were an attempt on his life. More than 1,200 people, mainly students from the mosque’s two Islamic schools, have fled the complex.
Putin pulls Russia from key European arms-control pact
Today I read some eerie facts about the state of current affairs in the global stage. Currently Russia has stopped the nuclear arms-control pact that it made during the cold war. Russia is also restricting NATO from inspecting the European part of Russia. This is because of action from the Western Government as the Missile shield the US wants to put up to stop rouge nations like Iran is seen as a threat to Russia’s defense. Adding more tension to the bond with Russia is the fact that they will not withdrawal form one western allied site though they have already withdrew from several others. Though this is a bad situation both sides are agreeing to meet and discuss the situation.
Though it is scary that we may go into another cold war the fact that the two countries are talking before taking to many steps in the wrong direction. This shows that diplomacy is a prospering though it still needs some work.
The most interesting fact that I learned is how it is possible to take a positive step while you were heading in the wrong direction.
The Article that i read was titled
CAST iN ST0NE . It was about a wedding that took place and took their vows in the middles of an 18 foot foam-rock, on April 21, of 2007. The monument that they had took their vows on is one of the most famous prehistoric monuments in the world. Its called Stonehenge. The monument looks over Lake Elsinore. And its not to far from the newly weds home. After the cememony, they had a country-western themed recpetion. The bride had also worn a red dress instead of a traditional white one, and wore cowboy boots for the wetern theme reception.
I liked this article cause i thought that it was unique. I mean you dont go around and ahve weddings like that everyday yet see one like this everyday. Definitly a day NEVER to forget.
Military burn unit filled with pain, hope, humor.
San Antonio- five badly burned soldiers arrived around 11 pm. Sedated and wrapped in bandages form head to toe. The man had been injured days earlier when a roadside bomb turned their Bradley fighting vehicle into an inferno. A man who escaped run back to help a trapped comrade. They examined the man who escaped and realized that his lungs were terrible. They looked as if he had smoked around 100 packs of cigarettes in 10 minutes. Then they thought if he managed to escape and that is what his lungs look like imagine the men who were trapped in there. One of the soldiers went into shock. His heart, lungs and kidneys failed. He died without regaining consciousness. The soldier who had escaped had rebounding then an infection set in and he died. Within three weeks four of the soldier had died. The only man that survived had 97% of his body burned. He spent nearly 17 months in the hospital. He had more than 40 surgeries. He is still recovering. I think that every military man and women are very brave. I think that they deserve a brake because I really don’t see what is changing.

♥ Judge Dismisses Lawsuit of Former CIA Operative
♥ Yesterday in Washington a judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by former CIA officer Valerie Plame against Vice president Dick Cheney & other administration officials over the Bush administration’s disclosure of Plame’s name and covert status to the media. U.S. District Judge John Bates said Cheney and the others could not be held liable for the summer 2003 disclosure, which came in the midst of a White House effort to rebut criticism of the Iraq war by Plame’s husband, former Ambassador Joseph Wilson. The judge said such efforts were a natural part of the officials'’ normal job duties and that the officials were thus immune from liability.
♥ I could not relate to this article and I think this is why I did not enjoy any of it.
