Do we need new nukes? US is debating whether they should build a new arsenal to it’s town. At this point we contain approximately 10,000 nuclear weapons. A nuclear weapon is powerful enough to destroy half of a big city. Reliable Replacement Warhead has suggested if we should either make up grade our nuclear that have been made since 1960s or eliminate the stock? US has the second most nukes in their country, first being Russia with 15,000 nuclear weapons. Upgrading our nuclear weapons id said to bring a safer environment, more secure and reliability. But can the making of more power renew nuclear weapons be a plus for US. In a way it might because if we where all to go to war we at least will have something to defeat the other country against us. But the thing is if all the countries begin to upgrade their nuclear weapons it can cause great danger for all of us leaving us both with no land, and lots of destroyed places. What if we destroy half of our earth with all the nukes we send out to one another. So I believe that maybe all countries should reduce the amount of nuclear weapons, because it will be unfair if one country has more than the other so therefore we should all stop. We all live on this earth together and getting along focusing on the dangers of earth instead of fighting would be much better, but that will never happen. So I guess we’ll never really have peace between us all.
Title: San Diego Union Tribune I read about 13 gang members in Oceanside on Thursday who got arrested because two teenage gangsters were accused of killing a police officer last year. Nobody was injured in the raids. The accused are members of two street gangs, said Lt. Joseph Young who lead the investigation called Operation Bloodhound. Authorities wont say if any of those arrested were in the same gang as the teens accused of killing Oceanside police officer Dan Bessant. Lt. Young said “we believe there’s a connection.” Bessant was fatally shot while assisting another officer on a traffic stop at Arthur Avenue and Gold Drive in the Mesa Margarita neighborhood of north Oceanside.
*Miramar practice a TD for troops When the Chargers had the exhibition game with Seattle, four starters sat on the sideline. Tomlinson, Eric Parker, Matt Wilhelm and Igor Olshansky were the starters that sat out for the exhibition. Tomlinson has just 14 exhibition carries in six summers, including zero last year and one in 2005. This practice was the Chargers third practice at a local military base in the last 15 months. Last year they went to Camp Pendleton during off-season workouts and to the USS Ronald Regan at NAS North Island during training camp. Chargers treated about 2,000 Marines, sailors and their families to a one-hour visit that included signing autographs. One interesting fact is that Sgt. Paul McHugh, a 23 year old Virginian stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, he caught a touchdown pass from Philip Rivers♣♣♣
Finally they have let electric scooters on the freeway. The future arrived in San Diego. A city man became the first person in California, and one of the country, to buy a freeway-legal scooter. The price of it is $11,000. The max speed will reach 62mph the range goes up to 70 miles without recharging and acceleration is 50mph in 60 seconds. I think it will sell a lot and people will buy them.
This morning I read an article titled Private Loan can be costly option. It talked about students taking out private loans. When parents can’t or don’t take out Plus loans, students usually turn to private loans. It is expensive because lenders base their loans on the borrower’s credit score, the lower the score the higher the rate. Most students have low credit scores because they have no credit history. By getting a co-signer with a higher credit score, students can lower their interest rates. The co-signer then becomes legally obligated to the loan. You usually have to have a FICO score above 800 to get the advertised lowest rate. About 75% of borrowers get the worst rate, and only 10% get the lowest rate. Rates on private loans range from 8.25% to 18% or more. Fees are also based on the borrowers credit scores. They range from zero to 11% of the loan amount. Until they apply for a loan, borrowers cannot find out what rate and fees they will get. Picking the lender with the lowest advertised rate can back fire.
Union tribune- Reggie the gator debuts at L.A Zoo. I have read an article about a famous gator, Reggie. He was located in Los Angeles he cruised an urban lake for nearly two years. Many people got a glimpse of him but now they can just go visit him at the zoo. He is 7 ½ foot long, 114 pounds. Hundreds of people went to the zoo to go visit him on his first day there. They were wearing Reggie T-shirts and had gator hats. Reggie was first spotted in Harbor City’s Machado Lake in August 2005. The man who illegally raised Reggie as a pet dumped him in the lake when he got too big. During the next two years Reggie cruised the 53-acre lake apparently dining on frogs, crayfish and the tortillas and chicken leg left by visitors. There were several efforts on capturing Reggie. The Zoo director said that he believed that the gator is about 7 to 8 years old and is still growing and could reach 10 feet long and weigh 350 pounds. I think that this story is so sweet. This gator was just going around not bothering anyone. It seemed he was happy to just go around without being in a cage. I think that it was really nice that the gator did not attack anyone. I think that Reggie is going to be very happy in his new home.
