Casino’s fight complaints for liquor license
Neighbors from Barona at Wild cat Canyon, say that due to Barona liquor license there have been more risks, and lives in danger. Since liquor is now sold in Barona Casino, many gamblers purchases their drinks to enjoy their time. But many are going too over board. The purchase of their liquor and drinking has caused drunk driving, and more crimes neighbors have said. The community of Wild cat Canyon says the number of accidents due to drinking coming from the casino since 2003 has raised from 5 to 10 in 2006. But casino says liquor is only limited to those who have the money to purchase it. And that the purchase of customers buying liquor is only about 25%. Barona Casino and Wild cat Canyon’s community have been fighting for the case and will soon be taken to trial. Neighbors are hoping they could restrict the sell of alcohol in the casino. Community claims alcoholism is bring everyone at risk and danger. I believe that the neighbors do have a point about the alcohol sale at the casino. Because it can be very dangerous especially if someone is drunk driving at night when you can’t see a thing. So they do have a point but if they do happen to stop selling liquor how will this effect their business. But at the san=me time they are putting to many lives in danger, but life is all about money so hopefully things will work out.

♥ Teenage Killer's Sentence Reduced
♥ This morning I read an article in "Region Update" about a 15 year old boy who killed another teen with a baseball bat two years ago. A juvenile court judge ruled that he would spend up to 11 years in custody yesterday. The boy was 13 when he struck 15 year old Jeremy Rourke on the knee and again on the head after an April 12, 2005, Pony League game in Palmsdale. The boy was orginally sentenced to detention until he was 25. He was ordered re-sentencing after appeals court ruled in january that he had acted "in the heat of passion" and reduced his orginal second-degree murder conviction to voluntary manslaughter.
♥ The most interesting part of this section was the fact that they went ahead and said that killing the boy was acting out of the heat of the moment.

New electric scooter is good to go on freeways.

The new scooter is called the Vetrix Mazi-Scooter. It funs by electricity. The scooter can reach up to 60 Mph. They call the scooter "The Future". The scooter can travel up to 70 miles without recharging. It helps a lot because it also saves gas, you don't need gas at all. The only problem is, the scooter costs 11,000 dollars. Two or three times as much as scooters that run on gas.

I think the scooter is a much better way of getting around. It makes no noise, and it does not need gas. The money is also worth it because you will not need to buy gas, you just need a plug it in the wall. If everyone were to buy one, it would be a lot easier for gas to go back down. I want one :]

-The San Diego Union tribune
-Peru quake death toll tops 500
-The article that I read today was about the earthquake in Peru. In the article I saw a picture of people carrying a coffin. This earthquake happened in Pisco, Peru. It says that the San Clemente church in the city's main plaza was perhaps the deadliest spot in the quake. The church collapsed burying 200 people. The total death toll reached 510 yesterday. There were 1500 people injured. 80000 people were left homeless. The magnitude of the temblor was calculated 8. the quake was centered in Peru's southern dessert, at the oasis city of Ica and the nearby port of Pisco.
-I think that this article is pretty sad. It would suck if that had happened here. I think that the total death will still rise.
-One thing that I learned is that the church of san clemente was the deadliest.

Teenage Killer's Sentence Reduced.

This morning i read an article on a 15-year old boy who was at first convicted of a felony of second-degree murder, about 2 years ago. The boys name was not given because of his age. He was only 13 at the time of the crime. He was at a Pony League and had stuck the 15 year old boy with a bat on the knee and on the head killing him. The incident had happenend on April 12, of 2005. At first he was to be detained until he was 25, but then the judge had said he was sentence to do only 11 years in custody, and conviction to "voluntary manslaughter"

-:|:- I don't think that was fair, cause many people who have done similar crimes get life in jail.

PERU QUAKE DEATH TOLL TOPS 500

-There is a picture of people carrying a coffin on top of the article with a caption that caught my eye. It said that the San Clemente church in the city’s main plaza was the deadliest spot in the quake; it collapsed, burying 200 people. 510 was the official death toll with the magnitude 8 earthquake. 1,500 people were injured and 80,000 were left homeless by the devastation. The destruction was centered in Peru’s southern desert at the city of Ica and nearby Pisco. A U.N. assistant said that the death count will continue to rise due to the houses being totally destructed. Yesterday the death count was at 450 but rose up to 510. The earthquake devastated a highway near Chincha, Peru.
-I think this natural disaster was the worst I’ve seen since in my life. There couldn’t have been anything that could have stopped this but it actually could have been worse. I feel sorry for all the victims that had to suffer this disaster.
-The earthquake also toppled a wall in the town’s prison, allowing 600 prisoners to flee.

This morning I read an article titled Transit board OKs higher bus fares. Starting January 1st 2008, Metropolitan Transit System will increase bus fare, get rid of transfers, and decrease or discontinue certain routes. They are doing this because of a large drop in state sales tax revenue. They are going to allow older buses and trolleys to be covered in wrap-around ads, they are also going to increase paid advertisements at some transit stops. Officials said cuts were made in many areas before fare increases were considered. It is the first time in over four years that MTS has increased fares. Bus fares will increase from $1.75 to $2. they would again increase another 25 cents in January 2009.bcause of eliminating transfers, they will now offer a $5 day pass. Monthly bus passes are said to increase from $60 to $68 in January 2009. High-frequency routes are will remain $2.25. officials propose to cut a dozen bus routes, including three in Chula Vista and one in Old Town. Also under this proposal they will freeze new positions until April 2008 and they are eliminating an employee bonus program. I think that this is really lame. Bus fare is already expensive and how are low income people supposed to afford this new price increase.

rockies crumble in padres' fifth 6-2 lead disappears in 9-run home half. a hitting outburst as steady as it was timely carried the padres to an 11-9 victory last night that decided their three-game series with the rockies and kept San Diego three games behind the first-place diamondbacks in the national league west. mike Cameron terrmel sledge and peter La forest each contribute a multi-RBI hit to a 13 at-bat eight-hit procession in the fifth, which yielded nine runs, one short of the padres record for an inning at Petco Park. the fact is that finally the padres won a game and they won against the rockies. and the won 11-9. this article was very interesting because the padres actually won.

The destruction was centered in Peru’s southern desert, at the oasis city of Ica and the nearby port of Pisco about 125 miles southeast of the capital Lima. The U.N. Assistant Secretary-General Margareta Wahlstrom said that “it is quite likely that the numbers will continue to go up since the destruction of the houses in this area is quite totaled.” It also said that the dead are scattered by the dozens on the streets, and they don’t have lights, water, or communication… Everything is destroyed.

Seven people were kidnapped. Two of the abducted men were later found shot in the head on a road leading out of town. The rest of the captives were women and their fate is unknown. Meanwhile a U.S solider was killed and four were wounded in combat. This attack occurred on Wednesday. I think that this is terrible. I think that they probably hurt the women and tortured them. I don’t think that they would find this people.
