Title: Barry Bonds makes history with 2nd-inning homer at Petco Park.

10 Sentence Summary:
A big event happened at Petco Park on August 4th. San Diego became part of baseball lore last night. San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds tied Hank Aaron’s home run record. Bonds’ 755th career homer came from a 2-1 pitch from Padres pitcher Clay Hensley. When Bonds hit landed it landed 382 feet away in the left-center field seats. Bonds was one home run away of capturing what is considered baseball’s most hallowed record. The person that got bonds’ ball in the end was a guy named Adam Hughes. Adam Hughes is a 33 year old plumber from La Jolla. Hughes’ cousin said that it was ridiculous looking for the ball, people were saying that the ball wasn’t there and once she turned around that her cousin was yelling that he had it.

3 Sentence Reflection:
I bet it was an exciting moment to catch a ball that was a tie breaker. Hughes is a lucky person to be able to keep the ball because nobody else can say they caught Bonds’ 755th hall of fame ball. San Diego is probably honored to be the place on where Bonds’ became apart of the Hall Of Fame.

*Morales denied by Diaz
Erik Morales loss the chance to win the WBC title. After the loss, this stupid foo announced his retirement. There were about 9,735 Mexican people in the crowd. Morales made the crowd go wild when he sent the champion Diaz to the canvas with 11 seconds left. Diaz returned the favor in the second, knocking down Morales with a left uppercut. David Diaz refused to let Morales make history, denying his bid to become the first Mexican to win world titles in four weight classes with a thrilling unanimous. It was an intense, physical start to a bout between a fighter trying to make history and another looking to cement his status as a champion♣♣♣

Today in the newspaper I read about the horoscopes. In it, it said that in every situation there is a bright spot. It may be miniscule, like a pinprick of light, but its there. It says the I should find it and stand in it. And that everything looks better from that vantage. That was my horoscope for yesterday. In today's horoscope it says that I am starting to hear from friends that a small secret about you is making the rounds. It's not such a big deal -- in fact, it might be for the best! There's no need to hire a public relations agent or start spin control.
I think that reading the horoscopes Is really helpful for me I think that it helps me get a view of every day and it helps motivate me
One interesting that I learned is that in the horoscope it said that people are noticing a change in me and are impressed with my accomplishments.

▫ Guest Rode In From All Over The Territory
▫ This morning I read an article that was the party that was given to Dr. Stuart Jamieson. His wife set up his 60th birthday party. The invitations were anything but ordinary, with red bandana lining, cowboy hat, a lariat, and some cowboy boots. The theme his wife chose for the party was clearly country western. Stuart is a rancher, a horseman, a helicopter pilot, and an an internationally acclaimed heart surgeon. The party was at the jamie son's modern oceanfront house in La Jolla. The food was catered by the Hyatt Regency La Jolla.
▫ BoRiNg! I basically chose this article because it was my last resort and I was wasting time looking for an article with an interesting title.

&haerts; No bodies recovered in third day of search.♥
-----♥This morning I had read about the Minneapolis bridge that had collapsed.
-----7hearts;There were no bodies that were found in the river. It’s the third day that they have been in and out of the river searing the bottom of the river looking for any bodies, or remains from a body. There has been a list of people that have been given to the police department for missing people. So far they haven’t found anything. There was a car pulled out from the bottom of the river, but no body, no remains of a body. NOTHING. There is at least 6 people that are missing, including a 2 year-old girl and her pregnant mother. They hope that they complete their “mission” on looking for everybody before September of 2008.

-----♥I think that its sad that there are a lot of people missing and can not be found. They search crews should try harder. Well at least that’s what I would of done. I feel sorry for the families that had lost some of their loved ones, because I can personally relate on how it feels to lose someone that you love. Especially family.

MAN SHOT IN HEAD DURING ARGUMENT AT COMPLEX

A man was critically injured Saturday night after he was shot in the head at the time of an argument outside an apartment complex. The shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. in a parking lot near Del Sol Blvd. and Del Sol Ln. Cops said a couple men were waiting for a friend in the parking lot when two other men started up a conversation. An argument started and one of the men fired at least one bullet at the victim. The victim's name has not been released while awaiting notification to his family. Police said the suspect is Latino, in his mid-20s with a shaved head and has a tattoo on the right side of his neck. He is about 5 ft.-9 and weighs about 125 pounds. He was wearing a blue San Diego Padres jersey.

I think that what happened was a mishap that didn’t need to happen. I think this man will get caught because he left too much evidence at the scene. I agree with the writer because he sees that the criminal needs to get caught.
So far, the man has not been caught.

Soldier sentenced for rape, murder.

In Fort Campbell, Kentuckey a soldier, named Jesse Spielman was convicted of raping and Iraqi teenager and murdering the family. He was sentenced 110 years in prison with parole. His charges are rape, conspiracy to commit rape, housebreaking with intent to rape and four counts of felony murder. Spielman was not the only one involved though. Three other soldiers pleaded guilty for some of the charges such as assault and were given ranges of years from five to 100 years in prison. It is said that an invasion was made in 14 year old Abeer Qassim al-janabi's house, both parents and sister were shot and killed, while Abeer was held down by two soldiers, one was guarding the door, and two soldiers took turns raping. A soldier, whose last name is Barker, claims that many portions of the documents are untrue. Barker and Cortez testified that they took turns raping the girl while Green shot and killed the Mother, Father, and younger sister. The 14 year old girls body was set on fire aith kerosene to destroy the evidence.

I don't understand how Spielman was charged for a lot of the actions when the others confessed what they've done. If they hated the fact that they were going to get charged for life in prison, why would they let one of them get away with it? They should turn in everyone else so they know for sure that the others dont get freedom. They didn't even bring up spielman and he is being charged. I hate the fact that people get blamed for things when you aren't even sure of what they've done.

This morning I read an article titled Man in water is killed by propeller of friends’ boat. Late Saturday, a man was killed in Mission Bay. The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the Campland dock. The county’s medical examiner’s office identified the victim as 40 year-old Paul Bernard of Lake Forest. He was either standing on the boat’s swim step or on the dock. Then the boat moved forward and he fell into the water. The driver of the boat shifted into reverse and the propeller struck Bernard. I thought that this article was so sad. I could never imagine something like this actually happening. Maybe it wasn’t actually an accident. It sounds like it could’ve been in a movie.

melting ice
Its interesting to point out that the article is not talking specifically about global warming more so its talking about the actual ice caps in the Antarctic and how they have been affected throughout the years. Many scientist believed that global warming was causing the ice caps and glaciers to melt. Yet new research indicates that the melting in the ice is an effect of an forever ongoing cycle. The cycle consists of different temperatures that have been freezing and melting the ice caps for millions of years. Though researchers are concerned that the fast pace at which this natural cycle is taking place is going way to fast. They are concerned that the normal pace of things are taking place prematurely due to human activity. Yet researchers are stills active trying to find more data to cope with the situation.

Camp Pendleton
Today I have read a story about two marines, one accused of murdering civilians and another of ignoring the crime. The general dropped the charges against this marines. Two investigating officers saw the trial and decided that the court should drop the charges due to insufficient evidence form the prosecution. Sharratt was a marine charged with the killing of 24 men, women and children in Haditha on November 19, 2005. That same marines convoy had been attacked by a road bomb that same day in which his lance corporal died. It is said that the massacre was a way of taking revenge. Captain Stone was the one that ordered them to attack. He had insufficient information. In a trail Sharratt said that he shot three Iraqi men because they were pointing guns at him. He was terrified when he learned that there were women and children caught in this fight between the marines and insurgents. The families of the Iraqis that died did not want to cooperate with the situation. It is said that they are willing to lie about the dead just to get money form the U.S. Overall it has been said that there is not enough evidence of this massacre to charge them with anything. I think that this story is very common now that we seem to be so ok with this type of situation. This war has been going on for so long and so many innocent people have died. I think that if there isn’t enough evidence to charge them than that is fine. But we have to realize that what our marines are going thru over there is very strong and not every one of them takes it the same way. Some marines might take out their anger in Iraqis. I don’t agree with that and just because they are marines it doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t have a fair trial.
