Title: Police fatally shoot wanted man

10 Sentence Summary:
In Linda vista the 5-0 shot and killed a man. The reason why they shot and killed him was because it was believed that he wounded a SD police detective in a gun battle. This happened in an apartment complex late last night. The authorities said that 2 police detectives and state parole officers were in Linda vista looking for a man who was suspected in an attempted murder. The attempted murder happened on Saturday in Otay Mesa. People say that the man came out of an apartment at Casa Linda Apartments with a handgun and had confronted the officers on the street. After the man went outside to confront the officers, Capt. Cornicelli said that gun fire was exchanged between the man and the detectives. The police called for backup around 6:45pm. When the police called for backup the Paramedics declared the man dead at 7 p.m. as he lay on the breezeway sidewalk. Cornicelli said detectives had received a tip earlier in the day that the man suspected of shooting another man in the head in an Otay Mesa parking lot Saturday night could be found at the apartment complex.

3 Sentence Reflection:
I don’t think its fair for the police to shoot people as they please, I understand if they are doing it for their protection but that’s why they go to police academy so they can learn to shoot people but not necessarily kill them unless the suspect is 100% jeopardizing their lives. In this situation, the suspect wasn’t much of a threat that’s why I believe that the police shouldn’t have shot him down. I think that the police take advantage of the fact that they are at the same level as the law and since they know that they use it to their advantage to get away with things that they do, even when they know it could be wrong.

In my trip to the museum I learned some very interesting facts. The most interesting is how one of the most used organs can not always be trusted. In the second floor of the museum there were several activities that tested the faults of the eye. In one called the spinning eraser a whole bunch of crosses would be spin really fast as you concentrate on the circle in the middle the other shapes would disappear scientist still have not come up with an explanation for this one.
On the first floor there was a sound exhibit where I moved the tube to change the frequency of the sound that came out. This happened because the sound waves that it took in would change.
The tornado exhibit was one fascinating one to look at it showed how a tornado is formed from hot air raising and lowering.
Focused conversation was a round ball in which you would talk trough this worked because if when you talked trough the ball the sound wave would be starched inside and then brought out the same way.
The ear tricks were pretty interesting it showed how our ear shape effect how much we hear in one that curved like that of a rabbit it actually increased the volume in which we heard, the other which twisted and turned lowered the volume because of the wrinkles it force the sound wave to bounce meaning sound waves would weaken.
In the fish bowl it showed how sensitive our eyes are in this one you would stare at a red fish to null your eye section that interprets red then stare at a white sheet of paper that would then you would see a green fish because of this lax in red coloration.
The anti gravity mirror was simple one in which you were dissected in half by placing yourself in at the edge of the mirror then trough the positioning of the mirror you would see two sections doing the same if you were to lift your leg it would appear as if you were jumping.
In about face half silver mirrors were placed at the opposite ends when light was increase the light the reflection of yourself would increase because of the reflected light, a two way mirror.

OH the most interesting fact is that Is that one eraser thing with no explenation this means to me that thre is still alot out there to learn.

X GAMES 13
The article is about the X-Games going on in L.A. this past week. The article talks about how a change was made in the Big Air skating event. Before skaters had to test the air and make sure high winds did not throw them off track. Now since the new changes are made, such as that the event take place inside the Staple Center the skaters are much safer than before. Now the skaters don’t have to worry so much for the winds carrying them away and now they have more time to concentrate on winning and showing a good performance. Since the skaters have to skate down really high ramps and do tricks on really high beams the wind conditions are really important. That is why skaters such as Andy Macdonald are happy the skating event is taking place indoors. The event is still dangerous but now there is a little less risk.

I was not as excited to be there as everyone else seemed to be but it was fun. I don't have an interesting fact because I can't even remember a lot about the science center. What I do remember was going to a display with a two sided mirror and I could see myself through the mirror as if I was floating. I think the mirror was called the antogravity mirror.

Fish bowl – As you stare at one fish color for a certain amount of time, and then look at the bowl, you see the fish inside that bowl. Light sensitive cells.

Anti gravity Mirror – Makes it as though your body is split in half, you can move an arm or lift a leg to look as though you are jumping, with just the reflection of yourself.

Touch the spring – Mirrors give you the illusion that the spring is right in front of you, but in reality it is under the wood.

About Face – an illusion where you think the picture is smiling, but when you really look at it, you notice that some features such as the eyes and mouth are upside down.

Whispering Dishes – You can talk into a giant dish, and the sound waves will travel across the room to the other dish.

Ear Tricks: cupping your ears effectively changes shape & alternates how you listen
You & Me: half-silvered mirrors reflect light thru both eyes visualizing both reflections in glass & image of each of the person behind either side, your brain combines reflected & transmitted images into one perceived face
Spinning Eraser: motion of background draws attention away from other shapes on window. Steady fixation on center dot makes disappearance of surrounding blinking or shifting gaze induces reappearance of surrounding shapes.
Fish Bowl: when you stare at some color for a while then turn to something blank, all your color-sensitive cells are stimulated, since your other cells aren’t responsive you see a different colored image.
Water treatment: water is purified by adding many things such as; potassium permanganate, ferric chloride & polymers, ammonia/chlorine, run thru filter
Antigravity mirror: illusion works many different mirrors, observed brained is tricked into believing image of left side is really right side, due to human body bilateral system.
Do you believe your eyes?: pose depends on how or where you focus, what you see depends on meaning you give it, some focus to much on meaning of words and have hard time looking at form of pic, disregarding meaning.
About face: upside down both faces look same, right side up one looks normal and other looks strange. When upside down brain works harder, not really paying attention to details.
Whispering dishes: parabola naturally occurs in shape found in nature. It’s ideal for focusing sound light waves , also used to collect solar energy for heating.
San Diego’s water: 2/3 water supply in N.Cal, 2/3 population in S.Cal. SD pop is expected to increase by 1 mill in next 10 yrs, requiring more variety of approaches. Rainfall area N. Cal, “30-90” Central Cal “20-30” SD “9-10”
Water conservation: to conserve water everyone needs to take/do; shorter showers, use ultra low toilet flush,/shower heads, plant drought resistant trees/plants, turn off & not leave water running when not in use, check pipes & plumbing fixtures, use a broom instead of hose to clean.
