♥ Kitten found in alley with eyes painted shut ♥
This morning i read an article that had read that there was a kitten found in an alley in the Logan hieghts area. The kittens eye were spray painted shut. The poor little kitty had suffered intense pain. The vet and other people as well as the young women who had turn the kitten in that she had found had said that this is with out a doubt animal cruelty. It was very much so intentional to hurt the kitten by painting the whole face, and his/her eyes shut. Whoever did can and may be prosecuted and charged with a felony. The kitten will remain at the shelter. They are not so sure that they wat to put it up for adoption quite yet.
I think that what they did to this poor little kitty was wrong. They have no heart or compassion. i can never ever picture myself doing such a thing to animals. The person who did this should be punished.
Experimental electrodes let brain-injured man speak, eat again.
In New York, experiments on a man who was beaten nearly to death during a robbery, which left him mute and unable to eat. His skull was crushed which severly damaged his brain. Researchers decided to do deep brain stimulations to him. which puts electrodes in certain areas of the brain. The treatment has been used for years in treating Parkinson's disease. The only difference is, they put the electrode implants in different areas. The man who was first to be put through this experiment was unnamed, but he is able to be more awake of his surroundings, speak and drink from a cup.
I think its amazing being able to cure some different types of disabilities. If this procedure continues, we will be able to help more people with becoming capable or more things.
Quest currents ICE AGE In Murdo Station, Antarctica there was a hole drilled by ANDRILL, into the ground about3,043 feet below ground. Until it reached the bottom of offshore moat in Antarctica piercing the ocean floor. There they had found that there was once open water. Resulting what had led evidence to the once open water were fossilized diatoms, which is a microscopic algae. Statements explained that 1 to 5 million years ago, there where past cycles in Antarctica of warming and cooling. Scientists with the Antarctica Geological Drilling project and ANDRILL, are coming to believe Antarctica’s past life can help us with expectations for warmer weather occurring in the earth. There has been many critical climate information observed by the ANDRILL, saying that there was once a time when there was a not many glaciers, and there was more of a water system. For us today, more of a water system can out turn for low-level places like Florida and Bangladesh can become underwater. If the ice age where to shrink or disappear again it can result as great harm for the rest of the planets as well as Earth.
This morning I read an article titled Saturn turns 60. It sounds like they are referring to years, but they are actually referring to Saturn’s moons. In May, the orbiting Cassini spacecraft snapped a picture revealing a 60th moon around Saturn. The Cassini wasn’t looking for new moons, it was just making sure there was a clear path. Keeping track of where the moons are allows the spacecraft to avoid running into one, every finding helps provide understanding of how Saturn’s rings system and it’s billions of parts work. The new moon also offers another possible location for future experiments. The new moon is approximately 1.2 miles wide and consists of mostly ice and rock. It is the fifth moon discovered by the Cassini and its team. Its current working name is “Frank.” I thought the most interesting fact was that they named the moon Frank and that Saturn has 60 moons.

Baseball's home run giant - Barry Bonds now owns what people look as to be the most wanted record in sports. The Giants’ outfielder hit homerun number 756 yesterday. That smack broke the all time record he shared for a few days with Hank Aaron. The historic shot happened on a 3-2 pitch in the fifth inning which flew 435 feet into right-center field. The issue of suspecting him of using steroids was put aside during that game because he never tested positive for the drug. After the homerun, play was stopped for his recognition in the game. During that time, Bonds gave the crowd an emotional speech. He gave thanks to all his fans. - I think Bonds deserved that record because he has been trying his hardest in the sport. I agree with the press because the also have a good perspective with sports. I like that many people cheered for him. - That shot was to break a long wanted record.
The San Diego Union Tribune The article that I read today was about a Kmart guard. It says that he was shot and killed. It says that the man set off the alarm when he walked out of the stores garden shop toward the parking lot. The security guard followed and a brief struggle ensued. Then a second guard noticed the commotion and stepped in to help. At that point the suspect drew a hand gun and fired at the first guard, fatally wounding him. The witnesses disarmed the gunman. They wrestled him to the ground, handcuffed and held him until the deputy arrived. The gunman was identified as Andrew Nicholas Griffith. I think that this article is pretty interesting because of the bravery of the witnesses. There aren’t many people that would do what they did. One interesting thing that I learned is that there is a Kmart in Ramona. I thought that there weren’t any left.
Title: At the end of his rope Resource: San Diego Union Tribune This article is about Luis Castillo of the San Diego Chargers. It talks about his training and how he says he is ready for the new season. He was training in Poway near his home. Before his training Castillo trains by himself or with his teammates. By the time the reporter got a chance to interview him he had already run with teammates at chargers park, lifted weights for 90 minutes, and worked on the elliptical machine for 20 minutes. A while back in one of Luis Castillo’s interviews he had said how he was just “kicking back” this off season. He says it’s tough training but its all procedure.
- Amputee agrees to stop driving in face of prison time - This morning I read an article base don a time when nothing could keep Michael Francis Wiley from behind the wheel, not even a triple amputation that makes simple tasks suck as tying a shoe impossible. Police who arrested Wiley so many times that it made it a felony for him to drive but that still did not stop him. But he is now at the end of the road and Wiley is scheduled to face a judge tomorrow for sentence ing on a new round of felony charges. Wiley is being charged for traffic and drug possession. Prosecuters want to put him in prison for atleast five years and this time Wiley says he's going to turn in his keys for good. Wiley lost his arms and most of his left leg in a 1980 accident when he was only thirteen years old. He learned to live without limbs. He taught himself to drive without arms. He starts the car with his toes, shifts with his knee, and steers with the stumb of his arm. He turns on the light with his teeth. Driving, he said, is one of the few things that lets him feel free and exert his independence. He says that he's an excellent driver and that it's one of the things he's good at all by himself. + wOah. This article was interesting from start to finish, it's amazing how someone who does not have any limbs manages to drive and cause trouble driving at the same time.
Fossils Found They found new fossils in Kenya. They are possibly rearranging major branches thought to be in a straight ancestral line to homo sapiens. Scientists who dated and analyzed the specimens 1.44 to 1.55 million year old homo erectus and homo habilis said that they might have lived side by side in eastern Africa. If they find out that this is true that would mean that habilis and erectus must have originated form a common ancestor between 2 and 3 million years ago. They also found that the species of homo erectus was not as humanlike as once thought. In recent years scientist have been hinting at possible overlap between the habilis and erectus species. The oldest habilis we had known of was about that same age as erectus. They were surprised that both species had lived in the same place at the same time and still remained separate. This would mean that the two had different dietary differences. Homo habilis was probably more vegetarian where as erectus was ate meat. Their co-existence makes it unlikely that erectus evolved form habilis. I think that every time the scientist dig something up they will find something different with their theory. I believe there is a lot of our ancestors we don’t know and each day we will find out something different. I think that it is great what scientist do.
